Zeke had a group of his friends over on Tuesday morning for a play date. We ended up visiting Horsey across the street.
Zeke and Horsey having a moment!
Horsey was born a few days after Zeke. We remember coming back on island after Zeke was born and there was this little dark brown cutie running about the field. Horsey was so curious and still is if he's not tied up. In the picture below (which was taken when he was about 6 months old), Horsey is actually standing on our drive right beside our car looking at me and almost appearing to say a friendly "Hello."

Taken on the same day as the above, here Horsey is doing a little downward dog Yoga!

Zekie and his GiGi's (Jason's parents) during their visit in February. Zeke and Horsey were about 13 months then.
And here he is at a year and a half. Talk about a change!
Zeke and I had never actually fed Horsey from hand to mouth. We usually just visited him and threw carrots in the grass. We just weren't sure how tame he really was. Tara, the founder of the Nielsen Zoo for Higher Learning (see entry dated September 28th).

Tara helping a little apprehensive Zeke.......
That's a little better.....
Then in the afternoon, we sauntered over to George and Blanca's house. Blanca showed Zeke the doves. New babies had just been born but they weren't able to be handled yet. Once again Zeke was a little apprehensive...........
Not long after............
Then he moved on to George's crabbies. ZEKE LOVES CRABBIES! George has these in a special box in his back yard because he uses them to catch fish. All of these crabs, the shuffling noise they make is amazing.......
Some of them we're quite large. I should have put something beside so you can get a sense of how big. This one is about the size of a tennis ball.
And as Zeke says, "Crabbie bites." Jason is in the process of teaching Zeke about claws and the difference between pinch and bite. So now Zeke is walking about with his hands out pretending to pinch saying, "Crabbie orange. Crabbie pinse Momma. Crabbie pinse Dada. Crabbie no pinse Zeke," and then he laughs and runs away! They learn quick.
Don't approach a goat from the front, a horse from the back, or a fool from any side!
