We're About Life....

............and no kidding!

"We're About Life" the slogan coming from a HospiceCare. Comfort & Quality reign here.

This weekend Zeke and I helped out with the Cayman HospiceCare. We brought along Zeke's little friend Castlin and her Mom Jen while the men studied for their upcoming exams.

With much pride, we stood outside of Kirk's - one of the grocery stores on the island and asked people to contribute to and support the Palliative Care on Grand Cayman.

We raised over $200 each in two hours. Zeke and Castlin handed out little yellow stickers that said, "I support Cayman HospiceCare."

See their website: www.caymanhospicecare.ky

We really couldn't BELIEVE how generous people were. And this was going on all over the island at every store. Friday and Saturday (not Sunday because nothing is open on the island - Family Day) there were very few people crusin' about his village without a yellow sticker.

One lady was making a flower on her shirt with all the donations.

Another one put in $45 for every year that her husband had been cancer free. Her husband was 45. Apparently, he was out shopping (probably at the hardward store) and he donated $38 (for every year his wife had been cancer free. She was 38.

Deep down, it felt wonderful to be a part of something like this and given that Z's Grandma Natalie died in Palliative Care coming up 7 years (April 3), it felt even better.

My heart was filled with much warmth and although Zeke's still a little guy, he gets it..................the secret to life! Kids always do! We as adults have much to learn from them.

Generosity is not giving me that which I need more than you do, but it is giving me that which you need more than I do. - Kahlil Gibran
