It always works best that we plan our big family trip once a year mid October (which just happens to be over my birthday - October). It's a REAL treat for me and the best birthday gift anyone could ask for!
Last year it was New England and the fall foliage - Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. This year we're heading off to to the "center of the universe" - tomorrow. Californ - IA here we come! We're planning on a big loop through wine, surf, zoo and aquarium country. Wine for me, surf for Jason, and animals for Zeke.
For me personally, it's going to be really tough getting my run training in as I gaze over my left shoulder to see the big blue and then over my right to see orchard upon orchard and grapes gaore!
Our route we have been researching for the past little while........
We'll being flying into LAX, crusin' through Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, up to San Francisco for 4 nights and then back through to Santa Cruz (you'll find Jason in the surf shops here!) down to Monterey, Solvang, and finally back through to LAX. Apparently the country between LA and San Francisco 'THEY" say is some of the most beauitful country in North America. We'll let you know.
Jason will fly home to the island from LA and Zeke and I will head up to Seattle to visit with my brother Dan and his girl Miranda for a week before heading home.
The cameras (all three of them!) are packed! Some of the things we 'wanted' to take on our trop like toothbrushes, underarm, socks, shoes, Zeke have had to stay behind to make room for the cameras. Just kidding.....we'll bring Zeke.....and maybe his toothbrush.
Hopefully Zeke does a lot of THIS while we're on that bird white bird!
And a lot of this on four wheels!
We'll be back on the island the first week of November and if the chance we'll update as we go!
