On our way back down to Los Angeles, we took a little westerly detour to Santa Cruz and Monterey.
There we entered the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was amazing! Check out their website.
The jellies were the most fun to photograph...... they were fluid and peaceful to watch.....and so many......incredible! Monterey has one of the largest and diverse jelly exhibits in the world.

At the outer wall one million gallon exhibit we found a baby great white (the only great white in captivity in the world). They have him to study his behavior and he'll be released soon as great whites being that they're on top of the pyramid and have the need to hunt in the wide open spaces.

At the outer wall one million gallon exhibit we found a baby great white (the only great white in captivity in the world). They have him to study his behavior and he'll be released soon as great whites being that they're on top of the pyramid and have the need to hunt in the wide open spaces.
Apparently, great white arrived on August 28 and will stay at the aquarium (educators at the aquarium predict 4 months) as long as he's healthy and doesn't grow too big for the aquarium. We really timed it right and lucked out seeing him. I wasn't able to snap a picture of him because he lingered a top the surface of the aquarium and no flashes were allowed. You could tell he was the BMOC. I did manage to snap one of this Pigeye Shark (also known as the Java shark).

Water cascades over this large tunnel and is recycled back out into the Pacific. Every 10 seconds a blast comes down over the glass. Zeke hung out in the tunnel for about 300 seconds in awe! The face is priceless!

"1,2,3,5,6,7,8,9,6,7,8,9," he responds. Well, we only got to 9 and then we were off running through the rows upon rows.
Now there's Zeke and his one big pumpkin! I wouldn't trade jobs for the world.

Pete's Pumpkin Patch......
We saw this pumpkin patch just outside of Oxnard and before Santa Barbara on the way up to San Francisco so on the way down (see as it was closer to Hallowe'en - 27th) we stopped by to count them!

There were so many little pumpkins......I thought about how I would have bought a class set of 25....so the kids could paint faces on them. Those were the days.......

But we did put Zeke up on the wagon so he could pick one out....

When we finally did get to the hotel....it was our last evening in California. We were trying to get some food into Zeke but he was crusin' about the hotel room, jumpin' on the bed like a monkey. So, Jason had a brainy idea. He put him in the car seat to eat. It worked. Zeke thought this was hilarious!
