Leaf Me Alone - I'm Free-mon!

The district of Freemont (Free-mon!), Seattle is one that feeds artistic hunger and appreciation for organic beauty. Outside of Uncle Dan's newly purchased Seattle home, Ezekiel found leaves that were colossal.

I was thinking that architect Uncle Dan and Auntie Miranda with her Masters program are two pretty busy people who would not have appreciated this unrefined georgousness if their little nephew hadn't come to town for a visit. Children simply have a way of allowing us to really 'see' the exquisiteness life has to offer. They miraculously turn us from human doings back into what we were meant to be......human beings (however long or short a duration).

Being that Zeke is an island child, he'd never seen so many leaves. Well, actually he has when we took a trip up to New England last fall. But, he was one......he probably doesn't remember.

Zeke enjoyed running up and down the steep hill kicking them about and squealing with delight!

It was work time...... Zeke deligated......Uncle Dan did the work.

Uncle Dan gives a pat for a foreman's job well done.

This is a priceless picture...... the leaf is bigger than Zeke torso but not as big as Dan's head. Big brains.....lots of wacky building plan ideas in there!

Momma gets in on the action and covers Easy E up - he's soon going to be 'hidin' - which is his favorite game.

Breakfast in the morning with Auntie Miranda and Uncle Dan. Zeke sat on telephone books.....he thought that was swell!

Zeke decides that if you want the job done right, one must be prepared to do it solo. This morning he decides to pick up the broom and sweep the leaves.

Good team........gearing up for this summer at the cabin when Grandpa puts the boys to work in the yard! HA!

This is 'tuff' stuff hauling this 'big brush' (Zeke calls it) up the hill. Grunting and determined, he made it!

"Hey this way little Zephyr."

While raking leaves must take a moment to enjoy the "weeas on de cah." Nice Mags on your cheese-mobile neighbor. Momma's chillin in the hood taking a lounging break.

Back to work............ "Those weeas are sure shiny."

A walk down by the mouth of the entrance to Lake Union. It's was soooooo attractive! We timed the fall foliage just right! This is where Zeke decided to turf his Pooh Bear over to see if he could swim. We never did find that Pooh! But we got a new Curious George instead!
Stay tuned for a picture of George!

Along along Lake Union and Lake Washington one would see these little houseboats all decked out and personalized fully equipped with a mailbox on the grassy bit just off the pier. Some people live in these all year round. Others who fly in on their little jets, just vacation. I thought, "WOW! An interesting way to spend your dash!" I'd better write it on my things to do before I die!

Amongst the hoolabalu of the city life of Seattle, we saw many people take much time for reflection and oneness. Besides being one of the most advanced with recycling (which I was really impressed with), people seemed to just simply be happy for the most part. ACTIVE and HAPPY. Keys to living a joyous life!

I told you they were super big into reducing, reusing and recyclying!

We had a great time Uncle Dan and Auntie Miranda...........thanks for having us and we look forward to visiting in the summer when you'll then have to go out and buy an air-conditioner. Inside joke!
Oh yes and before the summer, we look forward to seeing you at Christmas down in Grand Cayman where we'll show you our state of the art recycling separator under our sink. Don't even get me started. Recycling in Grand Cayman I would venture to say is on the leading edge..........of what I'm not sure......but it's leading something allright!

"Three cheers.....it's great to be Sleepless in Seattle!"
(sorry Uncle Dan, I HAD to)
